In 2012, a pivotal moment came
While debugging a 200㎡ outdoor LED screen for a Guangzhou supermarket, he found it used as much daily electricity as 3 households’ monthly consumption, costing the client over 10,000 yuan/month. "An LED display shouldn’t just ‘light up’; it should also ‘save energy’," he wrote this sentence on a draft paper in his lab that night, and at the same time, outlined the core direction of his future brand: to create energy-saving LED displays that "save money for customers and reduce the burden on the environment."

Defying Industry Norms: Pioneering Energy-Saving Tech
In 2012, most LED makers ignored energy efficiency (it required heavy, long-term R&D with little quick return). But Chen Jun was convinced it would be the industry’s future.
He raised funds, set up a <5-person R&D studio (Junchen’s predecessor), and focused on developing an "energy-saving driver chip." For 6 months, the team worked late testing chips and running 72-hour high-temperature simulations to balance heat and efficiency. Even when the purchased chips failed to meet expectations and 50 newly produced modules were at risk of being scrapped entirely, he refused to "compromise to cut costs." Despite financial pressure, he re-purchased high-quality components, stating, "When making energy-saving screens, cutting corners on core components is a betrayal of the very meaning of ‘energy saving’ and a disservice to customers."

In 2014, their first-gen "low-power tech" cut energy use by 25%-31% (no brightness loss). A supermarket client saw a 3,000-yuan monthly electricity saving – proving Chen’s path was right.
Building a Business with "Energy-Saving DNA"

In 2016, as the factory moved to an industrial park in Guangzhou, Junchen Display transformed from an "R&D-focused team" into an "integrated R&D, production, and sales enterprise." However, the "energy-saving DNA" that Chen Jun embedded in the brand’s core has never changed. In the production process, he required every module to undergo "energy consumption sampling inspections," and substandard products were never allowed to enter the market.
Today, Junchen Display has served over 2,000 customers, with products covering commercial advertising, government information displays, cultural and sports events, and other scenarios. Before the launch of each newly developed product, he personally participates in energy consumption testing.He often tells his employees, "What we make is not just ordinary displays, but ‘green light displays’ — we must not only ensure clear and bright images, but also make sure every kilowatt-hour of electricity is used effectively."

From an electronic engineer to a pioneer in the energy-saving LED display field, Chen Jun’s entrepreneurial journey has always centered on the two words "energy saving."
